Role of QV (Quotable Value)
QV is contracted by Council for:
Property valuation is done every 3 years with the last one done in October 2022.
New valuations are due to be audited at the end of February.
Once the Office of the Valuer General approves them, notices are sent to ratepayers by QV and values implemented.
There will be an objection period (around 4 weeks) where the owners can follow up if they disagree with the values. This process will be detailed in the notification letter.
New values will take effect for rating purposes on 1 July 2026
